Wide Variety of Thrilling and Exciting Things to See
You can spend three to four hours in the Atlanta Zoo with your kids, your friends or your special date and never get bored because of the wide and varied attractions that the place offers.
Great Place for the Young and the Young at Heart
This place is great for kids because most of its attractions are geared toward youngsters with ages 5-12. But of course, adults and teens will love it here too.
You won’t get bored because a lot of the attractions in this place are interactive. There are plenty of rides including the Blue Flame Express, a train that goes around the Zoo, and also a carousel.
When you get hungry, you can get yourself some good food as well. The Atlanta Zoo has six small cafes strewn around the place. There are sandwiches, hot dogs and chicken fingers just to name a few.
Giraffe Feeding
Even if the giraffe is so tall, you will have the opportunity to see them eye-to eye because you will have the opportunity to hand-feed them. But you need to be there from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then again from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Zoo charges $3.00 per guest for this chance of feeding wildlife.
Wild Encounters
Do you want to meet face to face with an African elephant? Well, the Atlanta Zoo will give you the chance to meet not just an elephant at close hand, but also a giant panda, or an Aldabra tortoise. But you need to shell out $35 for this privilege which is only available in certain hours of the day.
Wildlife Shows
The Atlanta Zoo also offers Wildlife Shows where you will be treated with fantastic displays of flying birds from around the world. You will also meet a variety of animal ambassadors from different continents in the world.
Bird Sanctuary
The bird sanctuary is a place where you can walk in and be surrounded by a flock of parakeets. They will be very close to you to give you the opportunity to interact with them. This will be a great way for you to snap close up photos of these adorable birds.
